NeoOffice uses Java, is even SLOWER, but is way easier to set up and start up and looks better without X11 running alongside. LibreOffice, a derivative clone of OpenOffice, continues to support PPC Macs in its latest releases. OpenOffice (using X11) is slow as heck, and uses a non-OS X native GUI so it looks a bit funny. Apache OpenOffice does not have versions for PPC Macs. It was the last version released for PPC Macs. You can install X11 for Mac OS X when you install Mac OS X. The OS X install of X11 comes with a few programs of its own. When i select mac hd as the destination for the software it keeps saying there is a newer version of x11 already there.
